AlterCam can help you make your webcam feed more interesting, by applying a series of special effects, backgrounds and overlays. All you have to do is choose one or more effects and the application will make them visible, regardless if you are chatting in Skype, Yahoo Messenger or any other chat application with webcam support.

AlterCam is free to try for a limited period of time, but without any functionality restrictions. It is compatible with all popular Windows versions and it doesn't have any special requirements. You can have the software up and running in a matter of seconds, without encountering any confusing options along the way.

Manipulating the live feed of a webcam is quite easy, thanks to AlterCam's straightforward design. Besides a preview of this feed, you can also find all the supported effects on the same user interface, categorized on four tabs. As previously mentioned, you only need to select one of the available effects to apply it. What's more, the application allows you to combine effects as well.

If you have more than one webcam connected, you can switch from one to another, by selecting them in a drop menu. It is also possible to replace the webcam's feed, with a live view of your desktop, on which you may apply the same effects. Another feature that may interest you is the possibility of recording the webcam's feed or the desktop stream.
